About TeraVolt Energy

TeraVolt Energy has a long history that began in 2002 in the commercial electrical contracting business. The original business model was that of a typical electrical contracting company with office warehouse facilities, a fleet of trucks, and over 20 employees made up of electricians, supervision, and office staff. During its electrical contracting operation, the company did over $2 million in commercial projects that included office buildings, retail shopping, fast food restaurants, and electrical infrastructure projects.

In 2008, the company discontinued it's electrical contracting activities and moved into the solar (PV/Photovoltaic) arena. The company was one of the first companies to build solar projects in Texas. The projects completed were typically those in the $100,000 and up price range. Over time, energy storage was added to the list of company offerings. This included the first totally off-the-grid commercial warehouse. The value of solar and energy storage installations during this period exceeded $2 Million in total volume.

The company completed its last solar installation in 2020 just before Covid 19 brought the country to a stand still. Since the beginning of its solar and energy storage activities, TeraVolt Energy was planning and designing systems that could be manufactured. This was motivated by efforts to support the West Texas oil fields during the height of the fracking operations. That was a chaotic time in an area of Texas that had limited facilities and infrastructure to support the large scale influx of workers and machinery. Mqkeshift mancamps sprang up overnight with nothing more than garden hoses and extension cords for utilities. Drilling operations demanded more electricity than the sparse distribution lines could handle, so large diesel generators were brought in that ran 24/7. An obvious solution was to offset diesel fuel consumption with large scale solar farms. But it was logistically impractical to bring in the necessary labor and materials to build these projects with all of the technical labor and accommodations already taken by the oil fields. The solution was a collection of pre-fabricated energy packages that could be built in a factory setting and delivered anywhere they were needed. Although the oil plays were greatly reduced before the manufactured systems could be fielded, plans to develop portable and transportable manufactured systems began in earnest during the Covid 19 shutdown.

Today, TeraVolt Energy is totally committed to the manufacture and distribution of both portable and transportable energy systems. With over 400,000 square feet of manufacturing facilities available to build the systems and solid partnerships with leading component suppliers, the company has the capacity to produce a variety of units on demand , from the portable 1000 Watt suitcase version to the 300 kW Transportable BESS module.
